Welcome to Sunday Caregiver Coffee & Conversation

When my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I found many resources for patients but far fewer for the partners and spouses beside them.

Caregiving can be lonely. You may be managing appointments, treatment information, changes at home, and your own fears while trying to support the person you love.

I created Sunday Caregiver Coffee & Conversation to give partners and caregivers a private place to talk honestly about those experiences.

You can join the discussion, respond to another caregiver, or simply read. There is no pressure to share more than you want to.

☕ How It Works

I post a new conversation question every Saturday. Members can respond over the weekend and during the following week.

You can also start your own post, ask a question, or share what you’re going through any day. I monitor the discussion and respond throughout the week.

This is a written conversation in our private Facebook group. There is no Zoom meeting or set time to log in. Read and reply when you have time.

Questions focus on the parts of caregiving that are often difficult to discuss, including relationship changes, communication, treatment side effects, caregiver exhaustion, intimacy, grief, and life after treatment.

Anonymous participation is available for members who would feel more comfortable sharing that way.

Why These Conversations Matter

Prostate cancer affects the patient, but it also changes life for the person beside him.

Partners may be carrying responsibilities, fears, relationship changes, and losses that other people do not see. Hearing from someone with a similar experience can help you put words to what has been happening in your own life.

Some discussions are difficult. Others are practical, reassuring, or unexpectedly funny. Each person decides how much to share.

Community Guidelines

Our conversations are built on privacy, respect, and kindness.

Please:

  • Respect each person’s experience.

  • Encourage rather than judge.

  • Protect the privacy of members and their partners.

  • Share only what you are comfortable sharing.

  • Avoid giving medical instructions or presenting personal experience as medical advice.

  • Contact a qualified medical professional when a question requires medical guidance.

Caregiver experiences shared in the group are personal experiences and are not medical advice.
