📚 Resources for Support Group Leaders

Helping You Support Patients, Partners, Caregivers, and Families

🤝 Welcome

Thank you for the important work you do supporting individuals and families affected by prostate cancer.

Every month, support group leaders create a welcoming place where patients, partners, caregivers, and families can learn, ask questions, share experiences, and encourage one another.

I created this section of the website specifically for support group leaders. Here you'll find free educational resources, presentations, printable handouts, articles, worksheets, and practical tools that you are welcome to use and share with your members.

My hope is that these resources make it easier to support not only the person diagnosed with prostate cancer, but also the partner or caregiver walking beside them.

All resources on this website are free to use and share with members of your support group.

Created by Debra Othman, author of Standing Beside Him: A Partner's Guide Through Prostate Cancer, these resources were developed through our family's prostate cancer journey and are dedicated to supporting partners, caregivers, and families throughout the cancer experience.

❤️ Why I Created These Resources

When my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I found excellent information for patients, but very little created specifically for partners and caregivers.

What began as notes, checklists, and worksheets I created for myself gradually grew into articles, educational resources, presentations, and practical tools designed to help caregivers feel more informed, better prepared, and less alone.

My mission is to help build a future where every partner and caregiver facing cancer is seen, supported, and prepared—not just to care for the person they love, but to care for themselves along the journey as well.
